Globe valves(Western Valves 18R2 Series)

High-flow main valve constructed with a forged brass body, designed to meet general compressed gas manifold requirements. Rated for 5000 PSI at 70°F, this valve features a aluminum silicon bronze seat plug with optional Kel-F or Vespel seat inserts. Engineered for low-torque operation, it incorporates advanced sealing components: ethylene propylene rod T-seals, PTFE-coated stainless steel sealing rings, and Delrin thrust washers. This robust design ensures exceptional sealing performance across both hot and cold temperature extremes, ideal for industrial gas systems demanding reliability and durability.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:

1.Apply Braycote 803 grease to the threads of the 180-55K or V seat plug, then insert it into the valve body.

2.Using the 18R2-2 stem, thread the seat plug clockwise into the valve body until securely seated.

3.Place the 18R2-6 sealing washer onto the top sealing surface of the valve body.

4.Insert the 18R2-14 thrust washer into the groove of the 18R2-3A bonnet.

5.Thread the 18R2-3A bonnet assembly clockwise onto the valve body until fully tightened.

6.Torque the 18R2-3A bonnet to 190 ft-lb.

7.Install the 180-5 handle, 306-11 spring, and 306-17 nut.

Note:

The bonnet assembly is pre-lubricated with Braycote 803. Use Braycote 803 for additional lubrication if required.

Halocarbon-based lubricants are NOT acceptable for T-seal stem lubrication.
